Obamarama (Under Construction)

Barack Obama has been in the public eye for well over a year now, and the now President has noticed: "I'm so overexposed, I'm making Paris Hilton look like a recluse," he has riffed. The persistent media scrutiny has been as ambiguous to behold as coverage of any wildly popular media figure... the fine line between capturing too much and capturing just enough footage of the lanky cafe-au-lait postmodern-yet-classic (postmodern with a significant retro edge, perhaps?) man continues to haunt me as I am bombarded with images of his iconically stylised, dynamically peaceful demeanour through the various media outlets I patronise. I would like to analyse the rhetoric and identity of Barack through clips which are both designed for official promotional reasons and the more elusive side of necessity, corresponding to Obama's personal life. The once senator from Illinois has reinvented discourse for everyone from ivory league intellectuals to high school drop-outs, asking them to consider key phrases like 'change', 'hope', 'progress', 'unity' and, hey, let's not forget 'the United States of America'. I would like to analyse his rhetorical style to begin with, then investigate what his body language, handwriting and other B.O. motifs reveal about his personality.

What's In a Catch-phrase of Choice? Change, Hope and Unity
"-Gy," It's A 'Middle of the Road' Kind of 'Radical Revolutionary'!
A Nuclear Paradise? The Politics of Uneasy Contentment (And On Abstaining From Ecstasy)

Sorry, have not been doing the rounds of late. except for my recent self-indulgent self-flagellation...oh well..
I too am extremely intrigued by Barak Obama, now Prez de States...
You know that old adage,if it seems too good to be true...??
I am only hoping he is true to the core, the real McCoy, but I can't help but wonder why the machine behind the Bush administration and its extremely shady connections, would let Obama win... afterall, Bush had one election rigged, eventually by Bush senior's appointees in The Supreme Court. so why not this election? Why nt make sure the Republican won?
As always, time will tell.... oh, just remembered, George Dubbya said that maybe next time his brother, Jeb Bush, might run for Prez....shudder....
cheers

I don't believe the election was rigged, I don't believe anyone has the power to do that... there was an inconsistency of some kind in 2000, it seems, however I think that GWB took advantage of the situation without having created it.
Barack is so refreshing that I'm not tired of him yet...
