Black and Silver, or Mere Slivers of Self-Consciousness

They keys are like square bonbons, laid out on a bed of silver - my fingers gingerly bounce off their smooth surfaces, and I try not to focus on the inelegant font printed onto each one, but it's impossible.
It reminds me of the dream I had last night of rubbing a glittery gold cream over my fingernails with the help of an old high school acquaintance who I had never been close to. After she left I surveyed the room to find that several of my nail polish bottles were overturned and spilling out. I managed to save half a bottle of lilac polish by Revlon, amongst others.
What does it mean to dream of cosmetics?
I gaze the bleary gaze of someone who awakes at 2pm and goes to bed shortly before sunrise.
Is the world missing me? In London and New York, Tokyo and Dubai, are people malcontent with my inexplicable absence from their lives? Do they 'paint one wheel black in mourning,' as Daisy Buchanan proffers the narrator of The Great Gatsby in a show of appreciation?
My world of online friends expands; my world of real life friends contracts.
No matter - I'll leave the country soon, and it's easy to make new friends when you're traveling (especially the way I do it, on a budget). And I have so many online friends that I will inevitably be in a position to make one or two of them real life friends as well, wherever I go. Yet they only partially influence my itinerary, eager as I am to discover innovation hot spots and influential cultures.
I have to admit that it's one of those days when I have not done enough soul-searching to tune into my natural equilibrium - I am missing an important piece of... something. Maybe I read too much without truly appreciating my responses to the reading material. I must have switched something off... an important light which I need to recover the switch to.
Maybe I should hang out with my friend, since she's actually in the country and all. It would be nice to get some prolonged human contact with someone who knows me as well as she does.

i will have to make an effort to meet you for a coffee before you leave!

I've only had two lucid dreams that I can remember, perhaps in the future I will manage to have more... I admire people who get them all the time!
I haven't finalised the date I'll be leaving yet, but I'm guessing about 4 weeks from now? We should definitely catch up before that...
Hi Janet,
I'm going to Delhi, India, where a friend of mine will arrange accommodation for me with his family or friends... after I acclimatise and get used to India, I hope to do a bit of travelling around the country, most likely to Rajasthan and Shimla. The Taj Mahal in Agra is also a must, of course, and I would like to see a bit of the south too, if I can stomach the whole experience alright.
I just got a newer camera (one of those ones with a big screen) so I can't wait to use it on my travel photography...
