So I was listening to Rihanna's Disturbia, when I thought I heard her sing:
Disturbia - it's like the darkest inner light
I see this as a very poetic rendering of the idea that, as long as you're alive, you're full of radiance. Even if you're closing yourself off to the idea of sparkling, or not yet working shining into your agenda as frequently as you'd like to, you're still brimming with life, generating incalculable amounts of energy.
Tapping into your inner shimmer requires you to let go of the distractions - mental illness, depression, and thoughts and feelings that don't make you feel good!
Rihanna actually sings 'it's like the darkness is light' - which subverts the idea that depression is not comforting or fulfilling, an idea I don't connect to much.
