Is 2Evolve in the cards?
April 24th 2008 14:27
Last Sunday I applied for a job to a company called 2Evolve which represents charities such as Greenpeace and Amnesty International. The position was for a telephone fundraiser person, and entailed making calls to pre-existing clients and asking them to increase their investment in their charity of choice. They're based in the CBD of Sydney and the shifts are 3pm-8pm for four days in the Mon-Fri period.
I'm a little reluctant to get stuck into the workforce again after what happened last time, but I suppose there can't be any harm in giving this a try. I suspect that the job will suit me - I am a natural at talking over the phone, can be very persuasive, and I don't mind promoting charities one bit - in fact, it sounds like a job where optimism is rewarded and idealism is part of the requirements. So there's nothing for it but to ring Monique back tomorrow during work hours and hopefully meet these people up.
I guess I'll find out exactly how employable I am...
I bought an Etihad Airways return ticket from Sydney to London a few days ago, and we're now looking for an inexpensive but quality hotel in London for me for the 6 1/2 days I stay on my own in the city before joining my mum in Paris for 12 days... after that mum will take me to London again for 2 1/2 days, and then we shall fly to Sofia and spend most of our time in Bulgaria in Samokov, a small town about an hour from the capital. I'm thrilled to be spending four weeks in Europe so soon after our big trip to Italy and Spain! As I mentioned before in 'Speech Therapy for Gays and Lesbians..." I have never been to England, despite my diverse and colourful travel history (that's four continents, twenty countries and over eighty towns/settlements/sites).
In a way I hope I get this 2Evolve job because it'll mean I can take a third holiday this year(!), either to Asia (India or China) or Latin America (Peru, Argentina and Brazil).
Back to England, my perusal of Lonely Planet travel guides has oriented me towards visiting the Tate Modern, White Cube and Hayward Gallery for postmodern art so far... can you think of any other pomo sites, dear readers?

I'm thinking of changing the background because I'm using white font on the side menus and bits of it encroach on the writing and make it hard to read it. I do like it though, I think it's sensual and unusual. Pink or rainbow themes would also be lovely. I'm sure I'll be changing backgrounds periodically.
Thanks for stopping by...
