What I think is Beautiful...

May 22nd 2007 03:24
(from a high school memo to myself)

- Finding beauty & inspiration (i.e. the act of finding something beautiful is beautiful)
- Ppl & their smiles (confidence, self-esteem)
- Language, music, art, poetry
- Everything (is potentially beautiful)
- It's beautiful when ppl believe they are beautiful (We're often made to feel anything but beautiful, attractive, so every person that fights against this trend makes a palpable difference to the world around them)
- Unselfishness & kindness is beautiful; accepting yourself and others
- Being open to looking at other ways of thinking & appreciating differences is beautiful

- Beauty can be found everywhere - how much we want to see is up to us
- Being positive is beautiful; looking for positive qualities instead of negative ones
- Being yourself, free of affectation
- Individuality
- "Develop a negative into a positive picture" - Lauryn Hill

The Ability

May 22nd 2007 03:14
To Stare Right Through People
Yet not to be able to stare past them.
At once, simultaneously, at different times
To make two seemingly disconnected lines
Find their own unique rhymes
The ability to find beauty
In the unexpected jumble
Of unprocessed codes of information
To Dissect brainwaves' amalgamation
The exhileration of expectation
For life to fling beauty at you,
No matter which way you swerve.
The organisation of loose cannons
The sweetness of a crude interruption
The mellifluous disruption
Of any sense of cohesion
That could possibly be established.

This way I'll always live my 'fantasy'
Have no faith in the jaded gaze of 'reality'
I see it, and it sees me,
but may it never impose its vision upon me.

Slow But Sure Progression

May 22nd 2007 03:01
I'm still in existence
I have not been obliterated
I defend the distance
That I will have to walk, and
Lose My Way in

I can't stand the horizon - a ring of gold surrounding me
reminding me of my blindness
All I know I do not see
After what feels like a lifetime of struggle
To keep myself still
I need to dance, wiggle all of my parts,
Hope that they remain whole through it all
Till I've had my fill

NB: I have reposted this review as I was unable to change one of the options on the old version. The Orble admins will know what I'm talking about.
